Kolkata and other regions of West Bengal were provided respite from the scorching heat as light rainfall graced the area.
The Meteorological Department reported that the minimum temperature in Kolkata reached 29.9 degrees Celsius, which was three degrees higher than the usual average.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature recorded was 32.9 degrees Celsius, slightly lower than the normal range. Similar temperature reductions were observed in Howrah, Hoogly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Midnapore, Purulia, and Bankura, among other regions of the state.
The department forecasts the continuation of this weather pattern until Thursday of this week, with a decrease in temperatures and intermittent light rainfall. Monsoon is anticipated to arrive by the end of June.
